My name is Carolanne Le Blanc and I freely admit that I’m an un-diagnosed Celiac. Getting diagnosed with Wheat Allergies over 30 years ago was only the beginning in a lifelong journey of understanding and discovery. A very social person myself, I manage a web-based Support Group called “Gluten-Free in Florida” designed specifically for people living or visiting in the Sunshine State. The group gives people across the state an opportunity to talk to others, exchange recipes, share information and education as well as find support. I also maintain an active "FaceBook Page" with contacts around the Globe and I see first-hand how Celiac Disease and Gluten Intolerance can affect all kinds of social interactions, making it difficult to navigate even the most common gatherings. I’m a big advocate for taking control of our own health, listening to our body’s needs, speaking up for ourselves, and of course attending local Support Groups.
I also Coordinate for the Gluten-Free for Life organization. Our Non-Profit, Gluten-Free for Life, is unique in that it’s run by the Celiac, Gluten-Free Community, for the Community. And we do this through a 501(c)3 that is recognized on both the State and Federal levels. All profits remaining after expenses go right back into the Gluten-Free Community as donations to support children and families living and coping with Celiac Disease or Gluten Intolerance every day.
Up until 2017 our biggest fundraiser was the Gluten-Free for Life Expo held each year in StPetersburg, FL. In the past we've been able to donate thousands to support the "Tampa Gluten-Free Pantry" as well as local Summer Camps for children. Places like "Camp Weekaneatit" and "Camp Boggy Creek" that offer safe camping experiences for children with Celiac Disease and Gluten Intolerance.
You can still help us support these great causes by donating to Gluten-Free for Life. There are people in the Gluten-Free Community that still need our help. Simply use the 'Donate' button and it will walk you through making your tax deductible donation. Big or small, every penny helps those in need with Gluten-Free food options at the Pantry or Scholarships for kids to attend Summer Camps and experience feeling 'normal' and safe for a week.
